In 1959, Oscar Kornblatt left his job as a dress presser and opened the Sno-Haus Ski Shop in Hempstead. Three years later, Bob Merrill joined him. A decade later, Oscar's son Neil joined as their third partner.

For 66 years, the Kornblatt and Merrill families shared a wonderful journey at Sno-Haus serving the winter sports community of Long Island.

In July 2025, the Mandel family who owned and operated Sundown Greenvale, brought the Sno-Haus operations under their umbrella and rebranded their store as Sno-Haus Greenvale.

Sundown Greenvale opened its doors in 1979, proudly served generations of winter enthusiasts from its long-standing location at 47 Northern Boulevard. In 2021 the ownership and operations were taken over by the Mandel family.

Four years later, in July 2025, the Mandel family brought the Sno-Haus operations under their umbrella and rebranded their store as Sno-Haus Greenvale. This united two of the oldest names in the industry and created the largest collection of ski and snowboard shops on Long Island.
