Boots hurt? Bring them in, wherever you bought them.
You don't need new boots to get a better fit. Our fitters work on every brand, from any shop, whether they're new or a few seasons old, and we'll tell you honestly what can be fixed.
Too tight? We can almost always make room. Plastic shells can be stretched, punched and ground where they press.

We grind or reshape the shell over the top of the foot, then remold the liner.

We check your length and stance, then punch the shell for toe room.

A wide forefoot or bunion
We punch the shell exactly where it presses.

We spot-punch the shell or pad around the bone.
Too loose? That's harder. We can't make a shell smaller, and a liner that has packed out doesn't spring back. We'll tell you honestly if yours can be saved.

Heel lifts, padding and a footbed can lock the heel down, if there isn't too much room.

Customized ski boot footbeds, matched to your arch
The footbed that comes in most boots is flat foam. BootDoc's 3-Arch system matches a footbed to your arch type, low, mid or high, and it can be customized to your foot. Your arch stops flattening and cramping, and you can ski with looser buckles and warmer feet.
Low arch
The foot rolls inward and has less natural cushioning. A low-arch footbed stabilizes it and stops it collapsing.
Mid arch
A balanced foot that spreads your weight across the heel and the balls of the foot. A mid-arch footbed balances support and cushioning.
High arch
Less of the foot touches down, so pressure builds in a few spots. A high-arch footbed spreads it out evenly.
Sock tip: the right ski sock changes how your boot fits. During your fitting, ask our staff whether full cushion, targeted cushion or no cushion is best for your foot and the way you ski.

Do I need an appointment for boot fitting?
No. Walk in to any of our three stores whenever we're open.
My boots hurt. Do I need new ones?
Usually not. Most pain is a pressure point, a volume issue, or a liner that was never molded. Even a liner that has packed out over a few seasons can often be re-molded or shimmed rather than replaced.
How should ski boots feel when they're right?
Snug all over. Your toes brush the front when you stand up straight and pull back when you flex into a ski stance. Tight is not the same as painful.
What does the Boot Fit Guarantee cover?
Boots bought at Sno-Haus are guaranteed to fit for life. Shell punching, heel lifts, wedges, canting and fit adjustments are covered, as often as you need, for as long as you own the boots.
How do you find my arch type?
Every store has a BootDoc podoscope. You stand on it, and your fitter sees whether your arch is low, mid or high and how your foot loads under your weight. That guides which footbed and boot suit you.
Do I really need to replace the footbed that came with my boots?
The footbed in most boots is a flat sheet of foam with no arch shape and no heel cup. A BootDoc footbed supports the arch, holds the heel in place and lets you ski with looser buckles, which also keeps your feet warmer.
What is a ZipFit liner?
A replacement liner with cork-filled zones around the ankle and tongue. The cork molds to your foot and doesn't pack out like foam, and more can be added later to fine-tune the fit. ZipFit liners are fitted at our Huntington and Greenvale stores.
What is Fischer Vacuum fitting?
A process that heats the shell of a Fischer Vacuum boot and uses air pressure to shape it to your foot and lower leg, which can make the shell roomier or closer-fitting where you need it. It's available at our Huntington store.
How long does a boot fitting take?
Plan to stay a while. A first fitting usually takes about an hour, because we measure, check shells, fit footbeds and mold liners in one visit. Adjustments later are quick.
Can you fit boots I bought somewhere else?
Yes. Full fit and heat mold for boots bought elsewhere is a flat $100.
How much does ski boot fitting cost?
A boot fitting is $50, and it comes off your boots if you buy them at Sno-Haus. If you don't, it becomes store credit. Heat molding is free on boots bought at Sno-Haus, and shell work, heel lifts, wedges and canting are covered by the Boot Fit Guarantee. On boots bought elsewhere, a full fit and heat mold is a flat $100, and boot repair and adjustments are parts plus $50 an hour, with a 1-hour minimum.
Do you fit snowboard boots too?
Yes. Snowboard boots use heat molding and liner work rather than shell punching, and we fit them at every store.
Can you heat mold snowboard boots?
Yes. We heat-mold snowboard boot liners at all 3 stores. It's free on boots bought at Sno-Haus, for as long as you own them. On boots bought elsewhere, a full fit and heat mold is a flat $100.
How does the $50 fitting fee work?
We charge a $50 fee at the start of every boot fitting. A good fitting takes real time and care, and we take it seriously. We ask that you do too. If you buy your boots at Sno-Haus, the $50 comes off the price of your boots. If you don't, you still leave knowing exactly what kind of boot fits your foot, and the $50 becomes store credit you can use on anything in the store, any time. It never expires.
