We measure your feet. We don't guess.
Two feet are almost never the same, and "medium arch" is not something you can eyeball through a sock. So we don't.
Digital foot scanner
Captures length, width, and arch profile for each foot as a measurement instead of an estimate — which is what tells us your true shell size and which insole arch height you need. Available in Greenvale.
Podoscope
A lit glass plate you stand on, so your fitter can see how your foot actually loads under your own bodyweight and how far the arch drops when you're standing in a ski stance.

Your arch height decides which insole holds your foot correctly. We carry BootDoc footbeds in low, medium, and high, and the scanner tells us which one is yours.
Fit tip
One thin ski sock over your new insole. Not two, not a thick one. Bulk bunches under the arch, creates pressure points, and makes your feet colder rather than warmer.

Do I need an appointment for boot fitting?
No. Walk into any of our three stores any day we're open.
My boots hurt. Do I need new ones?
Usually not. Most pain is a pressure point, a volume issue, or a liner that was never molded. Even a liner that has packed out over a few seasons can often be re-molded or shimmed rather than replaced, so a boot that feels sloppy now does not automatically mean buying new.
How should ski boots feel when they're right?
Snug all over, with your toes brushing the front when you stand upright and pulling back off the front when you flex into a ski stance. Tight is not the same as painful.
What does the Boot Fit Guarantee cover?
Every boot purchased at Sno-Haus is guaranteed to fit for life. Bring the boots back any time and we'll keep adjusting them — punching, grinding, molding, alignment — free, for as long as you own them.
Do I really need to replace the insole that came with my boots?
The footbed that ships in a boot is a flat sheet of foam with no arch shape and no heel cup. It's a spacer. A BootDoc insole supports the arch, locks the heel back, and lets you ski with the buckles looser — which is also why it makes your feet warmer.
How do I know which arch height I need?
We scan your feet. The digital scanner and podoscope give us your actual arch profile and how much it drops under load, so the low, medium, or high insole choice is a measurement rather than a guess.
How long does a boot fitting take?
Plan on approximately 60 minutes for a first fitting. Follow-up adjustments are shorter.
Can you fit boots I bought somewhere else?
Yes. Full fit and heat mold for boots purchased elsewhere is a flat $100.
Do you fit snowboard boots too?
Yes. Snowboard boots use heat molding and liner work rather than shell punching, and we fit them at every store.
Why is there a fitting fee?
We ask for it on an as-needed basis, so a fitter's time goes to people who actually want boots rather than to browsing. If you buy your boots here it is waived. If you don't, it stays with you as store credit.
Is the fitting free if I buy boots from you?
Yes. Buy your boots here and the fee is waived outright — it is not taken off the price of the boots, it is simply not charged.
What happens to my $50 if I don't buy boots?
It is held as store credit with no expiration date, usable on anything in the store at any time. It cannot be applied to other boot fitting or workshop services.
